Estonia trailblazes environmental efforts by opening a Greenergy Data Center

by Walacy Ferreira

On 5th of June, we were proud to announce that a 2.5-year project to relocate its local operations in Estonia from an office environment to a modern data centre has now been completed.  Through this partnership with Greenergy Data Centres (GDC), Playtech Estonia is transitioning their in-house hosting services to a more environmentally friendly data centre.

Under this agreement, Playtech will utilise GDC’s state of the art data centre in Tallinn, Estonia, aligning with their shared commitment to sustainable growth across digital services in the region.

This milestone represents a significant step for both Playtech and GDC as they address the increasing demand for production services, emphasising environmental consciousness, cost efficiency, security stability and continuity.

The EN 50600 certified facility, based in Tallinn, is recognised as one of the most reliable, energy-efficient, and secure data centres in the Baltic region. Through this partnership, GDC, which is powered by a mix of renewable energy sources, including solar, wind and hydro power will strengthen its commitment to promoting a sustainable future in Estonia, further enhancing the facility’s contribution to regional sustainability.
